This news item was added on 2nd May 2007

BMI The Alexandra Hospital has pleasure to announce the Weight loss surgery 'support group' to be held on Wednesday 16 May 2007.

At this 'first' support group evening we will inform patients, and patients considering weight loss surgery, about gastric banding and gastric bypass operations to help combat obesity.

Our guest speakers will include Mr Basil Ammori MBChB FRCS MD Consultant General & Gastrointestinal Surgeon and Chrissie Palmer, Trustee from BOSPA (The British Obesity Surgery Patients Association.)

The evening will offer the opportunity for patients to meet, discuss and feel confident with The Alexandra Hospitals experienced bariatric surgeons and the high standard of care provided by the UK’s leading private hospital group, BMI Healthcare.

The Alexandra Hospital only works with 'gold standard' Bariatric (Obesity) surgeons who are specialists in upper gut and stomach using laparoscopic (keyhole) techniques. They are experienced at working in the NHS and are members of The British Obesity Surgery Society (BOSS).

And because we see surgery as just part of the process, we offer a comprehensive aftercare programme to help our patients stay healthy and achieve the best results. Our consultants offer personal ongoing care and support from a team of specialists before, during and long after surgery.
